Lenovo attacks affordable market with $430 IdeaPad G530
It usually takes a few months before a laptop gets close to the $400 price, but Lenovo seems to be determined to make a dent in the market, because their newly launched budget-friendly IdeaPad G530 is available for just $430. That's right, just $430 and without rebates. One place that has it at this price is influencial Northern California computer-chain "Central Computer".
This is the type of a computer you can use for most of the every day tasks, and it certainly beats the netbooks in power and performance, while costing just barely more. It has a dual-core T3400 processor, 2gb memory (maximum of four), 160gb hard disk, 15.4" widescreen display, DVD burner, battery life of about 4.5 hours (!) and a whole lot more. What else can you ask from a $430 laptop?
It weighs just a fraction under six pounds, has both webcam and card-reader, along with wifi and ExpressCard. The OS is Vista Basic, which means you can make the best out of the included two gigs of memory. Needless to say, the graphics card is the Intel GMA 4500M, you can't realistically expect a card with dedicated memory at this price!
You can see the complete specs on their website.
But they are not the only ones offering it at $430, you can also get it at the price at Tigerdirect.com.
