Monday News round-up (new netbook in Korea, Intel processor leaked, etc)
In addition to the big news of the day, the Kindle 2 introduction, let's take a look at some of the other happenings in the world of laptops and notebooks. (yes, Kindle is not a laptop, but it's a potential mobile game changer).
Netbook World
New netbook in Korea! AVing.net notices that the 7" Kohjinsha S130 netbook will be hitting the South Korean market with 1gb of memory, the Z520 Atom processor, and a 60gb hard disk. It will weigh about 800 grams, which is under two pounds. And the most fun part? The screen swivels, which is a nice touch :)
It seems none of the companies out there are able to hold it in :) Another leak, this time Intel's next netbook processor, which is code-name Eternity Pineview. The next iteration of Atom Ant!
Netbook-this and netbook-that is often the case, but do you Liliputing points out that there will be three different versions of Windows 7 for netbooks. Mercy! Oh Mercy! Linux, please save us from this insanity! Will the crash screen have three different shades of blue as well? :-)
Reviews
You need a job position dedicated to keeping track of all the ASUS model numbers. We are not even sure ASUS employees can keep track of them all ;-) But Laptop Magazine is fearless, as they review the ASUS EeePC1000HE, not to be confused with the "HA" :) This lovely has a 10-inch display and a battery that promises seven long hours of computing fun.
PC World spends some quality time with the Linux flavored edition of the HP Mini 1000, which as the model name suggests, is a 10-inch display netbook. How does it compare to the other Atom-based netbooks? Well, the results in the review are mixed, depending on what your priorities are.
