Y650, Y550, Y450: new Lenovo IdeaPads revealed today!
Lenovo, which is the continuation of the IBM legacy, has added three new IdeaPad laptops to its line-up today, all three picking up on the 16:9 widescreen trendwagon (trend + bandwagon) and expected to launch in March 2009.
If you are not familiar with the current Lenovo line-up, be sure to check our Lenovo Line-up overview.
IdeaPad Y650
The Y650 features a 16" widescreen (16:9) display (1366x768) and uses carbon-fiber to keep its weight in-check without having to check-in at Jenny Craig. Prices will start at $1200 for this lovely and it will go up to 4gb of DDR3 memory. This is the model that has the better chances of helping Lenovo "break out" into the general consumer market
IdeaPad Y550
The Y550 will feature a 15.6" (16:9) widescreen display and start under $850. This is Lenovod's first 16:9 laptop, as their current Y530 is a "traditional widescreen" 15.4" model.
IdeaPad Y450
Starting at about the same price as the Y550 (emerging trend with some models from other makers as well, 15.x" = 14.x" in prices) and with a 14" widescreen (16:9) is the Y450, giving potential buyers another standard screen size that they did not have with the current line-up.
