Retail Watch: 16" HP widescreen slides under $500 already
We continue to alternate between new and rumored laptops and current laptops :) We've already recapped this week at Staples, now we take a look at the latest market trends at Office Depot.
16" widescreen already under $500
And market trends we see! The 16" HP G60-230us is at an amazingly low price, for $480 but after two rebates totaling $100. The 15.4" widescreens used to be the sub-$500 laptops, now what? The brand new 16" widescreens are already under $500! Oh my! This particular Pavilion has 3gb memory, 320gb disk, dual core T4200 processor, a number-pad, and the usual assortment of features (dvd burner, webcam, N-wireless, etc). Holy Cow!
The now common $400 laptop
Move over $500 laptops, the $400 are here to stay! ODP's entry in this week's pool is the Compaq Presario CQ60-206us, which is an ODP exclusive models. It does require two rebates of $80 total to get to the magic four hundred price. This is a solid model considering the after-rebate price, with 2gb memory, 15.6" widescreen (which means 16:9 aspect ratio), 160gb disk, Athlon QL-62 dual-core, nVidia, dvd burner, numberpad, and things like that. Yes sirree, all that for $400, assuming you can resist the temptation to get the HP G60-230us mentioned just above :)
17" laptop for $530? Oh my!
Yup, even the 17" laptops are joining the price-party! Another exclusive model for ODP, the HP G70-246us, offers 3gb memory, 160gb drive, T4200 dual-core processor, N-wireless, integrated number-pad, and things like that. The price is also after two rebates totaling one hundred bucks.
And two more
We close with two more, more traditionally priced HPs, the dv4-1220us (14.1", 4gb RAM, 250gb disk, Turion X2 RM72) for $600AR, and the dv7-1260us for $800AR (17", 4gb RAM, 400gb disk, RM-74 Turion X2, BluRay player).
Both of these have a bronze finish, which give them a more stylish look, which means a higher price to justify the stylish look ;-)
