New MSI GT727 gamer laptop shown at CES 2009

We continue to catch up with the new laptops and netbooks shown at CES 2009. Today we take a look at the MSI GT727, a gamer's laptop with a sub-$2000 price tag. Not quite the affordable like the recent Gateways, but performance and features have a higher price tag.

Here are the main specifications:
+ 17" (1920x1200) TFT widescreen display (of course)
+ ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4850 3D Graphic Card with DDR3 512MB VRAM
+ DDR3 1066Mhz memory
+ Intel Core2 Duo, Centrino
+ hard disk choices of 160gb, 250gb, or 320gb (all at 5400rpm)
+ Turbo Drive Engine technology by MSI
+ dvd burner
+ wireless, bluetooth, hdmi, webcam, card-reader, etc
+ Theater Class 4 Speakers
+ weight of 3.2 kilos (approximately 7 pounds)
