Happy New Year! Yes, it is 2009 already! Here are some of the hottest stories at the moment!

Next up, Notebook Review informs the world of the new Acer Aspire 8930G, a quad-core cutie. Well okay, not so much a cutie, but with four Q9000 cores and an 18.4" widescreen one can have a lot of computing fun.

One of the biggest rumor-buzzworthy stories bubbling under at the moment is whether Apple will release a netbook, or a netbook-sized iPhone or iPod Touch. What will it be? We have to wait for the official laptop news (or leak), but in the meantime, the Laptop Magazine blog speculates.
