More on the Lenovo W700ds (and the Frankenstein screen)

Lenovo generated a lot of buzz when it came up with a dual-screen (well, okay 1.5 screen) laptop, the W700ds. But this is a LINO, Laptop In-Name Only - as it weighs over 11 pounds. Not a typo, eleven pounds!

So now more information is surfacing about this ground-breaking Thinkpad design. Gizmodo spotlights a hands-on video preview. And if you are curious how the smaller screen factors in, Gizmodo has another video of a lovely lady-hand showcasing the hidden screen. Oh my!

Needless to say, this is not a $1000 laptop, we are talking multiples of that in terms of price, but for the people who want it or need it, or want to showcase their mad gadget-freak skillz, this will certainly be a head-turner. Imagine sitting at the office, the coffee shop or the airport, and all of a sudden you pull out a second screen (let's call it the Frankenstein screen). It's almost as jaw-dropping as Toughbook owners dropping them on the floor for reactionary-entertainment purposes :)
